This 1/4 wave marine antenna is made from high-grade stainless steel and works best with a ground plane such as the centre of a metal roof. Stainless Steel antennas are generally capable of handling abusive environments and have a longer lifespan compared to braided fibreglass whips, although they do have a slightly reduced electrical performance. It is fitted with a standard 27TPI threaded ferrule for easy mounting to a standard base.
